Summary of Cultivate Virgin Land in Guild Wars 2 Maps
Apart from the idea of cultivating virgin lands in maps to do tasks of previous MMORPG, Guild Wars 2 does some improvement on this matter, and increase up to three maps in the game. Next, I’ll take Rata Sum for example to make a summary about the characteristics of Guild Wars 2 maps.
1.Maps Design Layer
The map - Rata Sum is small, but desiners take ingenious advantage of the concept of space. You can see from the picture below that this little cube divided into four layers, while designers only use the stairs as passage to connect different layers.

2. Using Telespot - Asura Gate
This setting increses a certain confusing, which leads to a result that players may confuse the telespot as only a passage for them to pass across, but actually, it is sometimes used as the entrance to the unknoen areas of the large map.

3. The setting to Climbing and Jumping
It is a practical setting that reach up to a climax. In the beginning of the map, we can see a Vistas. The first sight I see it, I look all around, and try to look for extended rattan or climbing stones. Then we have to adjust the angle to jump over. After that, you can see a scene that a group of player gather up in a point and wait for something for a long time.

Additionally, there are other two representative points. Let's get an overview of them.
